For the Clio Renaultsport 182 Cup, handling, response and dynamic qualities have been tuned to match acceleration and track driving conditions. All excess fat has been trimmed away, leaving it low, light, lean and firm. In fact, the only thing it’s heavy on is performance.
Renaultsport has by now become synonymous with the high performance hot hatch. The Clio Renaultsport 182 Cup oozes performance from the same 2.0 16V Renaultsport developed engine as can be found in the standard 182. The Cup however has less weight to make it even more nimble though the bends.
The engine breathing, exhaust manifold and catalytic converter has been changed to increase the power output to 182hp. This has also improved both the acoustics and the performance at lower revs with the peak torque now produced at 5250rpm.
The steering, suspension and dampers have all been modified to increase precision through the bends while still maintaining ride comfort.
