The latest addition to the range is the Clio Renaultsport 182 Trophy. With specific suspension settings for optimum road and track performance, the Trophy is the final and hottest edition of the Clio 182. Based on the Clio Renaultsport 182 Cup, the Trophy version is distinguished externally by its Capsicum Red paint, Trophy logos on both rear sills and the larger rear spoiler from the V6.
The Trophy was conceived and developed solely for the UK market – the largest market for Renaultsport cars – and represents the culmination of five years of research and development since the first Clio with the Renaultsport badge went on sale in 2000. Just 500 right hand drive versions were produced at the Alpine Renaultsport factory in Dieppe between June and September 2005, all of them numbered.
The Trophy was fine-tuned on Renault’s handling track in Normandy with road assessments taken place in the Morvan region. The legendary Jean Ragnotti was involved in the development and testing of the Trophy at the Monthléry
